These are video clips of stuff I see while out train watching. Much of it is from stuff I'm currently seeing, but there are also numerous uploads of clips I've made from the past.
Railfanning BNSF's Needles Subdivision
I recently joined-up with @ChadsRailfanExperience and @PatsTrainVideos for a day on BNSF's Needles Sub in the Mojave Desert of California. This video covers spots between Barstow and Amboy. Unfortunately it was quite a breezy day, but some good trains were viewed. A highlight for me was seeing a MRL SD70ACe for the first time in person.

Proof that EMD used to build good locomotives. Those GP30/35s lasted over 40 years! Their current junk barely lasts 20 years (or less) before being scrapped.
I recently got a text from a railfan buddy of mine that NS 255 & 256 have retired the triple crown cars on June 1st, 2024

I'm new to the Roanoke area. Which district out of town sees the most trains?
I'd definitely say the Christianburg District to the west sees the most trains, however the busiest spot in town is around the Amtrak depot.
@@TrainVidsWithTom thanks. I've been on that line today but it seems they're working on track. I've only caught 2 trains today and several high rail trucks.

That's nothing! They used to pull long freights up Sherman Hill and elsewhere...
I beg to differ with you. It IS something to still be able to see. Even in your own words you said USED to……. Be grateful there are a handful still around to be seen, felt and enjoyed.

Sorry guys! I didn't see that! I remember that Union Pacific had/has the policy of whenever Heritage Fleet units move between terminals, they're supposed haul freight on trains like CYNP- Cheyenne to North Platte.

At the east portal of the Welch Tunnel in Welch, WV. There is a road crossing here offering easy access. It's just a matter of positioning the camera just right to shoot through the tunnel.
It's across the tracks but in the same location as the train shown immediately before it. Same tunnel portal.

Tips since I railfan the peninsula sub mostly. Usually right after Amtrak, they run a freight right behind. E trains are loaded coal B are stone/rock C loaded coal Locals are L215 And L217 S train are military Weekdays get more traffic
